Neil Armstrong Families, it is through your generous donations and support that our school is able to offer enrichment programs to prepare students for success. Does your student benefit from paraprofessionals that enable smaller group learning in the classroom, fine arts with Ms. Tess, using the library with Ms. Golden, learning computer skills with Ms. Gupta, or getting support from reading specialist? All of these - and more- are possible because of the Eagle Fund. WE NEED YOUR HELP to make our fundraising efforts successful to continue to offer these programs.

The new Neil Armstrong Launch Pad is set to open soon!  Your child’s class will have the opportunity to sign-up for time in the Launch Pad on Mondays and Fridays, beginning September 11th.  The Launch Pad is our STEM Lab/Makerspace that will be a fun and educational experience for all!  Beyond the actual STEM learning that will take place, our Launch Pad will be an excellent venue for learning opportunities in problem solving, following instructions, patience, creativity, collaboration, communication, spatial thinking, inquiry-based learning, and more!  We are ramping up by starting with STEM-based centers, and will roll out our more technical activities and Makerspace projects once the Launch Pad is fully integrated.  We are looking forward to the Launch Pad experience becoming an integral part of our school community environment.

WE NEED YOU!

To that end, we need you!  Or… we need your Legos to be exact!  If you have any used or new Legos you would like to donate to our NA Launch Pad, please drop them off at the front office in the marked container by Friday, October 6th.  The more Legos the better!

In addition, we also need someone to execute Project- Build a Lego Wall!  We think it would be really cool to have a giant Lego Wall as part of the Launch Pad.  We have the supplies and instructions, we just need a person to volunteer to build it!  The wall will be 5X5 and fun for all!  Please contact Lorna Monteith, lmontei@srvusd.net in interested.  Thank you!
